Power Dynamics

The relationships between actors in the value chain that determine who has access to information, resources and benefits. Understanding the dynamics of both horizontal and vertical relationships between actors and the relationships between the actors and their operating environments can reveal important weakness and present opportunities for market activities and donor interventions. Strengthened horizontal linkages can help marginalized actors improve their leverage and position in value chain.
