How to create a new page

Creating an entirely new page on this wiki is very easy. However, before you read this, you should already understand how to edit existing pages.

The key to creating a new page is that, before you actually create the new page, you first make a link to your not-yet-existing page on another appropriate page on the wiki. Then, when you view that page, the link that you just created will appear in red color, to signify that that link goes to a page that currently has no content. Then you simply click on that red link, and you will be taken right to the editing window that will allow you to type the initial content into that new page and press the save button.

So here are the step-by-step instructions:

  1. Go to a page that will be an appropriate place for a hyperlink that will take users to your new page (which has not yet been created.)
  2. Click the Edit tab to edit this page.
  3. In an appropriate place on that page, create a link to a page that has a title of what you want your new page to be titled. For instance, if the new page that you want to create will be called "Banking for the Disabled," then you would find an appropriate place on this page you are currently editing and insert text something like this: Also, check out our information on [[Banking for the Disabled]].
  4. When you save your changes and view the page, you will see your new sentence and its link, but the link to the page called "Banking for the Disabled" will be red. That means that it is a page that currently has no content.
  5. Now, simply click on the red link. You will be taken to an editing box that allows you to type the initial content for the page. Type in a few sentences (you will add more later) and click Save Page.
  6. There you have your new page created and ready for more editing and adjustment! Naturally, if you also want your page to be linked from other wiki pages as well, then you would simply place the [[Banking for the Disabled]] code in those other pages as well.
